
Bobby has over two decades of experience in independent schools and higher education — serving both nationally and internationally known private schools and universities. At present, Bobby serves as the Assistant Head of School for Advancement at The Haverford School in Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Haverford, Bobby served as the Assistant Head of School for Advancement at St. Albans School in Washington, DC.
Bobby has held virtually every role within an independent school advancement office throughout his career serving as Assistant Head of School; Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations; Executive Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations; Director of Alumni and Planned Giving; and Director of Reunion Giving — a position at which he excelled in increasing alumni engagement and participation at reunions and events across the country. Throughout his career he has built strong relationships with alumni, parents, and colleagues, who recognize him as a trusted partner, a careful steward of our resources, and a strong, thoughtful, and creative leader.
Bobby has devoted much of his working career to the academic world, having previously held senior major gift roles at The George Washington University, Georgetown University’s School of Medicine, and the University of Pennsylvania. He has also taught graduate level classes in nonprofit management and is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s esteemed Independent School Leadership Group (ISLG). He has a deep understanding of how schools function behind the scenes, and he enjoys thinking creatively about how communities can come together to support teachers, learners, and their mission.
Widely respected within the field for his professionalism and collegiality, Bobby has enjoyed working with thousands of alumni and parent volunteers and has extensive experience leading board committees ranging from trusteeship to development. He is known for his collaborative approach with team members and enjoys mentoring colleagues while helping find solutions that also develop individual strengths.
An avid oil painter and ice hockey and tennis enthusiast, Bobby received his B.A. from Hamilton College and earned master’s degrees from Syracuse University and the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Becky, have two children.
